 About the Organization 

 

The American Organization for the Development of Women's Ice Hockey in Ukraine was founded in the Summer of 2016 by Kelly Ann Whelan, an American woman playing ice hockey in Ukraine. The organization seeks to further the development of women's ice hockey in Ukraine through financial and physical support. In addition to accepting donations from generous supporters, the organization helps to enable player exchanges and an annual tournament. 

 About the Founder and President 

 

Kelly Ann Whelan founded The American Organization for the Development of Women's Ice Hockey in Ukraine in the Summer of 2016. Kelly was the first American to play in the Ukrainian Women's Ice Hockey League.  Her hockey career has spanned over 15 years.

Sport provides women and girls the opportunity to develop teamwork and sportsmanship skills, self esteem, life long health benefits, and the ability to connect with other female athletes internationally. Ice hockey is a new sport in Ukraine for women, with a women's league founded in 2016. Support is needed to help these female athletes succeed in the sport they love. We invite you to explore our website, understand our mission, and donate your money and/or time to this worthwhile cause of providing women these opportunities in Ukraine. Hockey for all!
