The governing body of women's ice hockey in Ukraine and the Ukrainian National Women's Ice Hockey League is the Women's Committee of the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine. This committee falls under the overall national governing body and is headed by Yulia Artemieva.

Yulia Artemieva is the current president of the Women's Committee of the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine, elected in 2016. She holds an MBA and two higher degrees in law and economics.

Sport provides women and girls the opportunity to develop teamwork and sportsmanship skills, self esteem, life long health benefits, and the ability to connect with other female athletes internationally. Ice hockey is a new sport in Ukraine for women, with a women's league founded in 2016. Support is needed to help these female athletes succeed in the sport they love.
